project 365/147 Tunnel vision

Wednesday night Syd and CJ were up way too late and of course we were letting them bum in our bed while we waited for them to wind down and get tired. We were listening to The Pulse on our TV and a song came on that CJ liked and she started dancing around. I went to grab the camera, but never got a good shot of CJ dancing, but Syd got hold of CJ pacifer and she was staring at with such focus. Almost lik she had tunnel vision. Check out her double chin!

project 365/146 Washing away

The rain has been doing a number on our sand at the corner of the pole barn. It was washing away so much that the concrete is showing. Hubby is building a retaining wall of sorts to hold it all in. I just hope it works! This place may never it finished before Mother Nature starts to tear it down.

Project 365/145 'Tis the season

It would not be summer without Hubby wearing this hat :) He started wearing it a few years back when he was working a lot outside working on the pole barn and every year since he brings it out. Check the weeds he is mowing, that is out front yard! The grass did not need to be mowed just the weeds :) A interesting side note: this will be the last picture of this mower you will every see; a few minutes after I snapped this picture I heard a thumping sound coming from the mower and it just got louder until the mower quit. Hubby said it seized up, and he was not even finished mowing the weeds!

project 365/144 It looks like trees

Sunday I made MJ try broccoli, oh my goodness you would have though I was asking her to eat a snake! She fussed, gagged and spit up more than Syd does. I don't believe she even swallowed one small "tree". That by the way was her excuse, "they are green and look like trees" Hubby tells her that you have to eat something more than 10 times before you get a taste for it. One down nine more to go. This ought to be fun to watch!

It looks like trees.

project 365/143 Time to clean

Saturday after a long day of selling and clean up I came home and began to think of all that will have to be done before next Sunday, the girls birthday party. After a week of garage sale prep, the house looks like a fright and the laundry that has been ignored by everyone will have to be folded. As I sat at the table running through my week long to do list, my eyes fell upon my wall of scrapbook pages and my first thought, like always, I need to get these in albums, I need to get Syd an album, I need to get them photographed....But then I remember my 4 day trip when I completed this pages and just smiled at the memories. Sometimes I just need to stop and remember why I have this busy schedule...the six of us.

Project 365/142 Pot banging

Friday Hubby caught Syd doing what she seems to enjoy most, banging the dog dishes on the hardwood floor. She would do this for hours if we let her but usually she gets stopped less than 5 minutes into it because it can cause headaches for the rest of the house.

project 365/141 Beak lip

Thursday while at Grammies setting up for the garage sale, CJ took a tumble in the garage and ended up with a big fat lip and skinned nose. It looked worse Friday but I did not get a good shot of it. She was a trooper through it all and didn't cry nearly enough for how awful it looked. Lets hope is heals fast as we would love to get the girls in for pictures.

project 365/140 Doesn't she know what "leave me alone" means?

Wednesday morning, CJ and Syd were playing with the big Lego blocks that Aunt Heather was selling in the garage sale. CJ wanted to play by herself so climbed onto the couch. However, Syd was very interested in playing with CJ so she pulled herself up and kept trying to put blocks on CJ's lid too. CJ was none to pleased about this and hollered, screamed, and cried, but to no avail. As you can see, Syd was all to happy about this. Hubby secretly believes that Syd gets some sense of enjoyment out of making CJ fussy.

Doesn't she know what "leave me alone" means?

Project 365/139 Garage sale mess

Tuesday, like everyday this week will be devoted to garage sale set up! Boy, the girls will be tired of this real quick. We only do this once a year, thank goodness. We only hope that by Saturday we will have a lot less to pack up :)

project 365/138 Who's walking who

Monday we took a walk up town on the trail and last minute decided to bring along Ruby (Pepper was not pleased). JD wanted to be the one to hold the leash so after she twisted me up and I fell we let him. Boy oh Boy it was something, Boy and dog weigh just about the same and where Ruby wanted to go they went. They both slept very well that night.

Project 365/137 Wow

Sunday we had attending a open house in Indiana. While there we visited St. James Chapel, a very beautiful chapel with much history. It is on the campus of Howe Military school. While we there we watched a cadet parade, (I'm sure it has a different title.) JD loved the canon that they shot off.

Wow

Project 365/136 The last time

I will tell you upfront that this is not a very good picture and I'm loathed to use it for POD but my almost teenage son was acting like, well a teenager, and was less that happy to be here.
Every year for the last 5 or so May and June are busy times in our life, school is ending and dance recital is looming. This year will be JD last recital, he is not attending hip hop classes in the fall. Somehow it is not the cool thing to do and this year he has taken to having me not tell any callers that he is in dance class, just that he is out. Anyway Saturday was pictures, normally we have them the week of recital but blissfully the were a few weeks earlier this year. I have always taken a picture if both of them in our front yard in their costumes and I will still get a chance come recital week but I wanted to get a shot of them at the dance studio and JD was just not in the mood and wanted it to just be over so we got 3 shots and all of them have a less than happy face from him.The last time

Project 365/135 I've been waiting for years

Friday I stopped to notice that my lilac bush finally has lots of blooms. This is the first year that is has had so many. For so many years it would have less the a dozen flowers on it. I thought my black thumb was showing. Check it out,it is full of blooms, it only took 8 years! Who says I'm not a patient women when I want to be. (Hubby dear, I was not asking you :))

I've been waiting for years

project 365/134 Ready to read?

I often find CJ in this position, whether it is sitting on a register vent, hiding behind the folded up treadmill or like this day, sitting in her highchair, which she had climbed into herself, notice that the tray is still stored behind seat. Every scene is about the same, she has a book, magazine, catalog or even junk mail and she is going through it like she is consuming the content. Every time I see it it make me chuckle, she looks so much older than she is.

Project 365/133 With this ring, 14 year later

Yesterday Hubby and I celebrated 14 years of wedded bliss. We have had our ups and downs but we would still do it all over again if given half a chance and that I think speaks volumes. There is not another person on this earth that I would want to have spent the last 14 years with or the next 14 years with than him.
Thanks for it all honey.

And now for the POD, it is corny (Hubby thinks) but I thought it was meaningful.

project 365/132 Jello Tinted

Tuesday CJ decided that strawberry Jello looked better on her than in her. She rubbed it into her hair and on her face. She was tinted pink for the rest of the day. Did you know that jello makes your hair stiff and hard to comb through? Well we do now! Remember how fun 2 years olds can be. I just keep a smile on my face and I'm confident we will come out with a happy well adjusted adult in about 20 years :)

project 365/131 Fix 2 and 3

Monday I painted the front door, we have lived here nearly 9 years and I just finally decided on a color. The door does need a few touch ups (need a smaller brush, I just have to find it my stash) But the biggest news is I finally have a screen door, which I wanted since we moved in. I told Hubby that it would make great Mother's day gift and viola it was done. I should have said that years ago! MJ had locked herself out and wanted to come back in but I was in the middle of trying to get both doors in the best light, she just had to wait a few seconds plus she ended up in the POD. Not bad for locking herself out! All in all it was a productive weekend in our house; Sun tube in bathroom, screen door installed and a 99% completed paint job.

Fix 2 and 3

project 365/130 let the sun shine in

Sunday Hubby finished up some home projects that I have been bugging him about for a few years now. Happy Mother's day to me! We have always had a sun tube in our bathroom but it was never this bright. Wow, we can't believe the difference this one makes. I had to close the bathroom door Monday morning because it was so bright I could not get back to sleep after getting the kids on the bus. It was very hard to get picture of this, it was reading so bright to my camera that it made every thing else black, kind of like taking a picture of the moon.

project 365/129 Sleeping beauty

Saturday we celebrated mother's day with both my mom's and Hubbie's mom. My brother had the brilliant idea of having breakfast/brunch at my mom's this year (maybe it will become a tradition), he even cooked it all! He is a great morning cook, my kids always rave about their breakfasts at his house when they spend the night. We then had dinner with Hubbies mom, sister and one of his brothers; pizza and bread sticks. JD had spent the night with my brother and SIL and went to the make-up Loons game (it got rained out the first time). He was up late and by the evening he fell asleep on grandma's couch. He rarely ever naps, has been that way since he was a toddler in fact. It was nice to see him snoozing, it not something that I take the time to notice these days. Our oldest blissful sleeping.

Project 365/128 Lazy Day

Friday's photo is of the dogs enjoying the warmth of the day. They played outside of hours. Ruby brought her branch to chew on when she gets bored and of course the ball is not far away either; just in case one of us feels the urge to play (sorry girls the kids are in school and I have no time to play ball today). Just when I was about to snap the photo a crow flew into the side yard and caught Pepper's attention, a few seconds after I snapped the picture both dogs bolted off the deck to chase said crow. Good thing I got the shot when I did! Getting a picture of the 2 of them together and being still is a challenge.

project 365/127 Right in the middle

Thursday I was taking pictures of the kids and Ruby just kept getting in the shots! She won her way to POD. In this shot I was trying to take a picture of Syd cruising and Ruby jumped on the couch and popped her head up. She is just like one of the kids!

project 365/126 Braces make happy faces

Wednesday MJ got braces! She was very excited until later in the day when they started hurting :) She does look really cute in them though. She picked the rainbow bands so every time she smiles she you see multiple colors.
I warned her that she might get teased in school but so far she has had favorable response, she is one of very few kids in her grade to have them, not a lot of 10 year old have all their permanent teeth in. Maybe at this age braces are not the awful thing that they seem to be at 12 or 14 years old.

project 365/125 Clingy

Tuesday photo is of Syd clinging to my leg. I took a load of garage sale stuff over to moms and let the girls play while we were there. CJ loved the swings just as much as MJ did at her age. Syd, not so much! She was a little scared I think. She was getting heavy to haul around so I stood her up and she just clung to my leg. Maybe next time we play outside she be better, I hope.

project 365/124 Just like big sis

Monday's picture is of Syd, she was snoozing with her tushy in the air just like CJ does. I just thought it was too cute. Syd however is the only one I can think of that sleeps with her nose squished in the mattress! Scares me every time I see her sleeping like that, I have moved her many time only to have wake up crying or roll right back, so I just do the breathing checks often to easy my mind. I don't know how she can be comfortable like this but she sleeps best in this position.

Just like big sis

project 365/123 say goodbye to the baby things

We are getting ready for our yearly garage sale, with 4 kids we are always out growing things here. For the next 3 1/2 weeks I will be sorting, price, boxing and hauling everything over to my moms house every spare moment of the day and I will still forget something and have to sit on it until next year, it happen every year! The first thing I have to do is pull things from JD's room, the temporary storage place of all things to be sold and not by his choice mind you.
As for the picture, after I started pulling things out the kids got interested in many things that they forgot we owned, it happens every year. CJ favorite to be sold item; the infant car seat. Hubby thought it would make a good picture for picture of the day but I said no it can't be CJ again she has been POD 3 days in row and 3 days last week! People might start to think we have favorites! So he told me to put Syd in the picture, she was not so happy with that. No matter what we did she cried. Oh well we tried.

Say goodbye to the baby things

Project 365/122 Checking on mom

Saturday I was ill, flu like symptoms, just a 24 hour bug. Nothing very fun happens at our house when mommy is sick. Hubby had a big project at work and had to be gone all day so the kids took care of me. MJ made me breakfast and lunch (what a sweetie). JD showed the little girl how to make a fort from blankets, (a good skill to have). I was feeling better by the evening and relaxing in the bedroom when CJ started playing with MJ's silver flats. She was parading up and down the hall with them on. When I called her name she just peek in and would giggle.
Thank you guys for taking care of me when I was sick.

Project 365/121 Look who's 2

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CJ! Today our girl turned 2. The year has flown by again. Where does the time go? She is doing so much now and even making sense when she talks :) She is getting very helpful and is curious about everything. She is as smart as a whip and catches on to new things very quickly. She also has major meltdowns when she is over tired. I would say she is a typical 2 year old!

Look who's 2

Project 365/120 Table for 2

Tomorrow is CJ 2nd Birthday and of course I can't wait to give her a present. My brother made her a table for me (Did I ever tell you that I have the best brother in the world!) He built it and I painted it (It needed one more coat but I could not wait to give it to her). She loves it, and check out those cute chairs, Walmart $7.50 each! She had a tea party with MJ right away . She threw a fit when it was bedtime, she did not want to leave her table! Thanks again brother dear, it is perfect!

Project 365/119 Basketball Attack??

Wednesday's photo is of JD. I picked him and his sister up from school and as always he is the last one to the van. When he got in his face was bleeding. Of course I asked him what happened, figuring he got scratched by someone. But NO, he tells me it was from a basketball. I asked if it had thorns, he just gave me the "get a clue mom" face. His colorful description of what happened is just odd, he tells tall tales often so I still thinking he has another story to tell me.
Is this one of those things that 10 years from now he will tell me the truth. I can see it now, "Hey mom do you remember that time in JR High when I told you the basketball scratched me, well it was not exactly the truth............"
